WHELF Autumn Board meeting, Gladstone’s Library, October 2022

On 13-14 October 2022 the WHELF Board met at Gladstone’s library, Hawarden. The building and grounds looked particularly lovely in the autumn sunshine.

Alison Harding, WHELF Chair, welcomed Kester Savage from NRW to his first board meeting and Julie Neenan, Cardiff Met, as an observer. Unfortunately Owain Rhys Roberts (NLW) was unable to attend due to illness.

Ann Rossiter from SCONUL was also a guest on Thursday. Ann led an interesting discussion on strategy and policy and how WHELF and SCONUL can collaborate.

Other topics discussed included

  • the upcoming LMS re-procurement plans and process, on which Gareth Owen (Cardiff uni) and Jenny McNally (WHELF LMS business manager) led the discussion.
  • Request for expressions of the interest from the Board on the role of Vice Chair
  • Plans for a strategy away day (3 March 2023, venue tbc) to include the WHELF groups. The aim is to work together to shape the new WHELF Strategy 2023-27.
