A new Chair and Vice-Chair for WHELF
We are delighted to announce that Professor Aled Gruffydd Jones (Chief Executive and Librarian, National Library of Wales) has been elected as the new Chair of WHELF.
When he was appointed to his new role at the National Library this year, Sir Deian Hopkin said: “Aled Jones has an impeccable record of strong leadership and proven strategic competencies in higher education and has wide practical experience and a deep commitment to the digital information environment. He is the ideal person to take the Library forward as it strives to provide an exceptional service to the people of Wales”. (Press release from NLW)
WHELF is indeed fortunate to gain his services as Chair and we look forward to welcoming him to WHELF.
Sue Hodges (Director of Libraries and Archives, Bangor University) has been elected as Vice-Chair and will continue to chair the WHELF Business Group.
Both will serve for a term of two years.
Congratulations to them both on their willingness to take WHELF forward during the implementation of WHELF’s new strategy.
